The Band of the Red Hand

One army of the current day is quickly gaining fame for its efficiency and success. Commanded by Mat Cauthon, the Band of the Red Hand is organized in the manner of armies from the time of Artur Hawkwing and the Trolloc Wars. Many members of the Band believe that it will never lose a battle as long as Cauthon is in command. The Band swears by his luck and military knowledge, following him unquestioningly into any situation.

The Band of the Red Hand was originally a legendary group of warriors of Manetheren. They gained fame around the world for their bravery and valor during the Trolloc Wars. It is said they were the last soldiers to fall, guarding King Aemon, when Manetheren fell.

The Band currently has approximately six thousand men, though it continues to grow. Men desire to follow a winner, and Cauthon has shown himself to be a commander who wins. He continues to bring the numbers of his soldiers more in line with how the ancient armies of the Trolloc Wars were organized. If he is successful, the Band of the Red Hand will continue to grow as one of the strongest armies in the world.
