Stock Exchange
The wotmania Stock Exchange (wSE) is an extremely sophisticated trading system that the New York Stock Exchange is interested in purchasing. Okay, maybe not, but it's a fun aspect of the community here. If you already understand how this works, good for you. If not, there are more details at the bottom of the page under the tables.
wSE Trading Floor
The wSE trading floor is where you can look at any active transactions you have pending and a history of past transactions. Head down to the wSE trading floor to see what's going on with your account. This is also where you can propose a transaction with someone else, to buy something or a service from someone.

wSE Marketplace
The initial popularity of the wSE meant I needed to create a place for folks to advertise if they are interested in buying or selling something. This marketplace makes that possible. Visit the wSE marketplace to see what others are advertising, or perhaps you will want to place an ad yourself.

All Usernames Must Be Independent
In the spirit of making the wSE fun and enjoyable for all, I would ask that everyone who has multiple usernames please treat each username as an independent "individual." This will help keep the playing field level for everyone.
What's the Point?
I'm sure some folks are asking what the point is. Well, first, this is just a lot of fun! But also at the end of each fiscal quarter I plan on awarding some premium accounts to some of the most successful traders at wotmania. I haven't decided on the final details yet, but the first prize(s) will be handed out at the end of the second quarter of 2002. Most likely I'll end up offering 5-10 awards to people for things like the most points overall, who had the best months, things like that... Like I said, I haven't exactly decided yet.
Transactions Socially Binding
Clearly there is no way to legally enforce the transactions here at wotmania. But in many ways they will be socially binding. I don't think anyone would want to be known as a person who does not live up to their half of a deal. The wSE is a community feature that I think everyone will enjoy, but it also depends on everyone acting honorably. Please, keep that in mind when taking part in the fun of the wSE.
Cheating
Let me just say that cheating on the wSE will not be tolerated. I know plenty of folks here have multiple usernames. Anyone that I catch filtering money from multiple accounts to one "master" account will forfeit all their wSE points. Keep in mind that I am also going to make VERY sure that I will not be awarding prizes to individuals who have cheated.
Dispute Judgment
Eventually my plan is to establish a sort of board for the wSE made up of several existing admins who have already expressed an interest helping with this. That board will be the judges when two wotmaniacs have a dispute on the wSE. For now, though, I am the only judge for matters related to the wSE. Drop me a note on the Noteboard if you have a complaint against another wotmaniac that you had a transaction with on the wSE. I will handle the matter as quickly as possible.

How It Works
I figured some people might be curious how this entire system works. Here are some of the basics that you might be interested in learning about...
Earning Points
Initially there is only one way to earn points, and that is by logging into wotmania once a day. You can only earn points for one login each day, but of course I'm never going to complain if you login more than once a day... Typical users earn between 1 and 5 points each time they login, premium users receive between 1 and 8 points each time they login. No complaints from the peanut gallery, it's another perk of signing up for a premium subscription. Please note that the exact point total is completely random within the relevant range.
It is also possible to earn points by submitting to some sections of wotmania, like the Theory Post, quizzes, Fan Fiction, and the Fiction Post.
Buying and Selling
The main concept behind this whole wSE is that you can trade points with other wotmaniacs in exchange for services. As an example, you might pay another wotmaniac to write a story featuring you as the star, or rent someone's user signature for a month. The possibilities are pretty much limitless. There is a special transaction tool you can use to trade points for services with another wotmaniac.
Use Common Sense
Please use common sense when you are taking part in transaction on the wSE. Deal with people you know. Make deals that make sense. If you use common sense while taking part in the wSE, you should be in good shape.
